Russell Island has a lot to offer, from the gorgeous weather all year round to the plentiful gifts nature has given us, from the unhurried lifestyle and friendly people to the magic of Curlews crying in the night.

Over a third of Russell Island is conservation and public areas.  There are beautiful wetlands full of creatures great and small crawling, climbing, weaving, hopping,  flying and generally going about their own business.

The tempo of everyday life is different. Even if you work on the mainland, once you are on the ferry or on the barge, the hustle and bustle of the mainland fades away and you find yourself smiling for no reason. Maybe it is the air on the bay
